When it comes to lead times, what’s more important to you? A quick vendor with inconsistent lead times or a vendor that delivers when they say they will deliver? Should you have to choose one over the other? At Breiner Non-metallics, we don’t think you should have to choose.

“Normal” Lead Time

A few months into working at Breiner, our sales manager met with a customer who had been buying gaskets from us for years. As they reviewed the purchase history, the purchasing agent mentioned that the only thing that bothered her about Breiner was the lead times. A quick glance at the monitor made one column jump out more than the rest:

Purchase History

What does that really mean? Breiner is consistent? Sure! But that wasn’t necessarily important to this customer. Lead times were the major issue. Guess what the standard lead time is on Breiner formal quotations? Yep, you guessed it. Three weeks.

The Result

We didn’t ask and the customer didn’t offer that a shorter lead time was important. In the last 18 months, Breiner has delivered parts the very next day no less than 5 times to this customer when requested and standard orders are now delivering in the 5-7 day range. The lead times are often dependant on the material in stock and/or lead times from Breiner’s suppliers, but with a simple discussion, this can be the norm.

Talk to us!  We know not everyone needs a quick delivery, but it may happen. It may work better for your company to manage shorter lead times. Let us know how we can help you out. And if you happen into an emergency, Breiner is set up to turn orders around within hours when necessary.

Give us a call today!  Not only are we flexible, but we are also easy to talk to.
